Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen today announced its title sponsorship of the Bahamas Bowl.
The Popeyes Bahamas Bowl will be played Dec. 24 in Nassau, Bahamas at noon EST inside Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium. The game will feature teams from Conference USA and the Mid-American Conference, and will be televised live on ESPN.
"Popeyes is honored to partner with the Bahamas Bowl to bring this historic bowl game to college football fans everywhere," said Hector Munoz, Vice President of Marketing for Popeyes, in a company press release. "Like college football, Popeyes enjoys a rich tradition and passionate fans, and we look forward to a great game and a lot of fun in the Bahamas."
This marks the first time Popeyes has sponsored a college football bowl. It is the inaugural sponsor of the Bahamas Bowl, which is new this year.
The 2014 Popeyes Bahamas Bowl will be the first bowl game played outside the United States since the 2010 International Bowl in Toronto, and is the first NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) bowl game outside of either the United States or Canada between two U.S. teams since 1937.
