Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is dipping its toes into the morning daypart. The company is currently testing a new Best Breakfast menu in the Charlotte, N.C., DMA. It will drive awareness of the new offerings with a two-day sampling event May 17 and 18 at the Mooresville, N.C., location.
According to Alicia Thompson, VP of communications and PR for Popeyes, the company expects the test to last a few months. Currently breakfast is not offered at the chain, but for a few airport locations. Popeyes will gauge customer response to the test before making any decisions about a broader rollout.
Thompson adds that the company is simply making sure customers have access to their favorite items from Popeyes.
During the two sampling days, customers can try new breakfast options including grits, country fried steak biscuit, sausage, egg & cheese biscuit, bacon, egg & cheese biscuit and Popeyes' signature Louisiana's Best Chicken Biscuit.
Additionally, the menu features bacon, sausage or chicken breakfast wraps, and a Blackberry'n Cream Cheese Turnover.
To complement the test menu, Popeyes has teamed up with Community Coffee to feature a premium-to-dark roast Café Blend. Community Coffee is based out of New Orleans.
Breakfast is served in the test markets from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m.
