Popeyes today-only LTO coated in edible gold

Today only and in celebration of the opening of its 3,000th restaurant in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Popeyes is offering champagne-battered boneless chicken wings tossed in edible 24-Karat gold flakes, a news release said.

"We wanted to share this celebration with our fans, so our chefs cooked up something extra special for them," Popeyes President Alex Santoro said in the release. "It's a fun way for guests to celebrate this milestone right along with us."

The LTO includes six boneless wings, a side item and biscuit for $5 while supplies last at all chain locations.
