Pret a Manger spins off a 'little' something new for travelers

July 11, 2016

Pret A Manger announced that in the second half of this year, it is expanding and spinning off a new concept, known as "Petit Pret." Just like the French translation for the word, petit, meaning tiny, Petit Pret, will serve as the brand's smaller kiosk unit locations in mass transit railway stations. The QSR kiosks will offer Best of Pret menu selections.

The idea behind all this is to allow for much more rapid expansion across Hong Kong, where the Pret a Manger chain is based. The planned expansion will establish at least three more outlets of the new Petit Pret brand by summer's end, including one at the central Hong Kong station at the end of this month, another in Olympian city by the end of August, and still another at the Kowloon Bay mass transit railway station by early September.

The chain, which donates all its unused food at the end of each day to charity, has more than 400 stores in the United Kingdom, U.S., Paris, Dubai, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
