Pretzelmaker promos $4 deal with new video

November 15, 2009

Pretzelmaker has released an exclusive song and video for its "4 Buck Hook Up" value offer that launched last month. The promotion offer features two salted (or unsalted) pretzels for $4.

The 4 Buck Hook Up video features 16-year-old St. Louis musician Morrion J. Henderson, aka "Goofy Boi." A NexCen Franchise Management Inc. executive discovered the musician's musical style in September and felt that it was a natural fit for the brand. NexCen Franchise Management Inc. is a subsidiary of NexCen Brands Inc.

Pretzelmaker worked with Goofy Boi to create a song featuring the 4 Buck Hook Up. He shot the accompanying music video on location at a St. Louis shopping mall earlier this month. The lighthearted song, entitled "The 4 Buck Hook Up," tells the story of two teenagers who meet in the mall and combine their cash to take advantage of the $4 pretzel deal. A romantic relationship ensues but takes a surprising twist when Goofy Boi upsets his sweetheart by eating her pretzel. Goofy Boi spends the rest of the song trying to win her back.

"We're excited that we were able to work with this talented young musician to create a memorable, buzzworthy song about the 4 Buck Hook Up," said Jenn Johnston, senior vice president of brand marketing, NexCen Franchise Management. "Our brand is seeing continued success reaching consumers through social media Web sites. Generating original content, especially unique music and videos, is an excellent way to engage new and existing customers."

The video can be seen below or on the brand's YouTube channel. Pretzelmaker's social media channels also include Twitter and a Facebook fan page.
