QSR attack ads on the increase

Advertising Age: Marketing seems to have entered a new era of attack ads. Dunkin' Donuts vs. Starbucks and Burger King vs. Wendy's are among the growing number of aggressive comparative ads setting the tone for TV advertising.
 
At a dedicated microsite,dunkinbeatstarbucks.com, consumers can stage interventions for friends who are spending too much on their coffee. They can also sending e-cards with messages such as "Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks."
