QSR executives named to Franchise Association board

The International Franchise Association elected its new board of directors during a meeting last week in Washington, D.C. They will assume their positions at the conclusion of the 54th IFA Annual Convention in New Orleans in February.

The new IFA directors include Carl's Jr. and Hardee's CEO Andrew F. Puzder, and Peter D. Holt, president and CEO of Tasti D-Lite.

Additionally, Guillermo Perales, president and CEO of Sun Holdings LLC, was named to the board. Sun Holdings operates nearly 400 restaurants in Texas in Florida, including the Krispy Kreme, Burger King, Popeyes, Arby's, Del Taco and CiCi's Pizza brands.

Other board members include:

• Michael J. Archer, president of Applebee's Services Inc.
• Jerry Crawford, CFE, president of Jani-King International Inc.
• Kathleen Gilmartin, president and CEO of Interim Healthcare Inc.
• Saunda Kitchen, CFE, multiunit franchisee of Mr. Rooter Plumbing

"The franchise industry will benefit from the caliber of broad experience these seven franchise professionals are willing to share with the industry and IFA," said IFA Chairman Steve Romaniello, CFE Roark Capital Group managing director and FOCUS Brands chairman. "Our mission to continue to protect, enhance and promote franchising is greatly strengthened thanks to these dedicated individuals and their board peers."
