A McDonald's location in Trowbridge, England, has recently rolled out new in-store self-order kiosks. The location reopened with these new features, which it funded with an investment of more than $575,000, according to a report by Wiltshire Times.

Customers can use the kiosks to order food and look up nutritional information. "Visits to McDonald’s can be stressful, especially when you bring the kids in and we are in a rush trying to get orders out and sometimes you don’t get the time to properly look over the menu, and so these kiosks are aimed at making it a more pleasant service," Mike Guerin, McDonald's franchisee said.

In addition to the kiosk, Guerin also oversaw the installation of tablets at several tables for customer use. In the future, Guerin plans to allow customers to order their food from these tablets. "I think table service complements the kiosks as you can select what you want and then wait for the food to come to you and so the pressure is off for the customer," he said.
