QSR sixth most popular category for Coupons.com

Coupons.com Inc., the leader in digital coupons, has announced its Top Coupon Categories for the year: Quick-service restaurant coupons were ranked the sixth most popular therein.
In 2009, more and more consumers flocked online for deals and discounts, as evidenced by a surge in savings-related Internet searches, according to the company.
Internet queries for coupons and related terms increased significantly on search engines in 2009.
Specifically on Google, searches for "Printable Coupons" and "Online Printable Coupons" increased 186 and 178 percent, respectively.
Yahoo! reported that "Coupons" was No. 1 on its list of economy-related queries for 2009. Following behind were popular terms "Unemployment," "Stimulus Plan," "Cash for Clunkers" and "Student Loans."
"As consumers continue looking for value and ways to stretch every dollar, they are increasingly turning to the Internet to uncover money-saving offers," said Jeanette Pavini, household savings expert for Coupons.com. "We expect this trend to carry into 2010 as more people jump on the couponing bandwagon."
