Qu, a unified commerce platform helping quick-service and fast-casual restaurants boost efficiency and grow revenue, has launched its Intelligent Commerce Platform, an edge-based artificial intelligence system designed to help restaurants improve operations without increasing cloud-based costs, according to a press release.
The company will officially unveil the platform at the 2026 Restaurant Leadership Conference in Phoenix, which runs from April 19-22.
The platform includes features such as production forecasting, AI-powered ordering, computer vision and equipment monitoring. According to Qu, early users have seen a 29% increase in drive-thru speeds and a decrease in food and labor costs of up to 3%.
"Restaurants don't need more AI — they need AI that actually works within the realities of their business," Amir Hudda, CEO of Qu, said in the press release. "If you rely solely on cloud-based models, costs scale quickly and unpredictably. Our Intelligent Commerce Platform is built to allow AI to run where it is the most cost-effective. This approach enables operators to increase bottom-line and top-line performance in this challenging economic environment."
The release follows data from Qu's 2026 Restaurant Technology Benchmark Report, indicating that while 73% of operators are investing in AI, only 5% have reported measurable value.
"AI is only valuable if it works for the economics of a restaurant. With margins already under pressure, we can't afford solutions that drive up costs behind the scenes. Qu's approach — especially leveraging edge AI instead of relying solely on the cloud - gives us a smarter, more affordable way to modernize operations while staying focused on profitability," Dawn Gillis, CTO at Golden Corral, added in the press release.
