Quiznos signs South American franchise agreement

September 22, 2010

Quiznos will bring its toasty subs to Argentina, Chile and Ecuador as part of the company's recently signed master franchise agreement.

The agreement, which outlines a plan for 30 new locations, is part of the company's initiative for international development, announced in early August.

Master franchising rights for the three countries were awarded to QSR International, a holding company with more than 11 years of experience in the industry.

QSR International owns and operates 99 restaurants, as well as a restaurant service and support center, supply chain store, industrial bakery and real estate investment company.

“The single most important factor in the success of a new international market is an excellent local partner,” said Lee Vala, Quiznos international chief development officer. “In the past, Quiznos has generally enjoyed success in Central and South America and we are eager to try to replicate that success in these new markets.”

Quiznos currently has units in nine countries and territories in Central and South America.

Throughout the next two years, the company plans to expand its international presence to more than 40 countries and territories, with a focus on markets in Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
