Rally's runs into roadblock over sign colors

The Shelbyville News (Shelbyville, Ind.): Plans to build a Rally's restaurant in the Indiana town of Shelbyville are on hold while city planners seek legal advice and clarification over a local zoning ordinance. The ordinance bans the use of the color black on building exteriors.
An attorney for the restaurant's developer argued that the checkered pattern on the Rally's sign is a registered trademark and not subject to change by local ordinance.
