Remodeled Colorado McDonald's includes solar-friendly windows

September 22, 2014

A remodeled McDonald's restaurant has re-opened in Boulder, Colo., with new features such as wooden tables, partition walls, digital menu boards with video and flatscreen TVs.

The restaurant is also designed with red, grey and black colors, rather than the brand's signature gold. Its exterior fits Boulder's specific architectural guidelines, and includes double-glazed windows that promote solar use.

There are also three drive-thru windows and a holding area in the parking lot for customers with large orders.

Franchisee Aaron Holland told the Daily Camera that there is no other restaurant like it in the McDonald's system.
