Rita’s names chief development officer to support growth

Rita’s Italian Ice has named Eric Taylor as its new senior vice president and chief development officer to lead the brand’s expansion. According to a news release, Taylor has 15-years experience in the franchising industry and joined the team in April 2014. He will be responsible for Rita’s global growth.

Prior to joining Rita’s, he held senior leadership roles at multiple restaurant chains such as MetroMedia Restaurant Group (Bennigan’s, Steak & Ale, Ponderosa, Bonanza), where he oversaw restaurant brands in more than 40 states and 20 countries worldwide. Most recently, Taylor was VP, International Franchise Development at Sbarro.

“Eric’s experience growing franchise businesses, leading sales teams, and opening restaurants successfully both domestically and internationally is a perfect fit with our overall expansion plans,” CEO Jeff Moody said in the release. “We are very happy to have him join our leadership team during this critical time of accelerated growth.”

Taylor holds a B.S. in Marketing from Arizona State University.
