Rita's Water Ice to hold spring giveaway

TREVOSE, Pa. — On March 20, Rita's Water Ice will hold its 16th annual First Day of Spring Italian Ice giveaway.

The giveaway will be held from noon to 9 p.m. at more than 500 Rita's locations in 17 states. Guests will receive one free, regular-sized, 10-ounce cup of Italian Ice to commemorate the beginning of spring. More than 1 million Rita's guests are expected to take part.

To honor the company's "Sweet 16th" year of the First Day of Spring celebration, a new flavor, Birthday Cake Cream Ice, will debut on Rita's menus.

Thirty other flavors are made fresh daily at each location, ranging from classics such as Cherry and Mango to new favorites such as Twisted Melon and Cappuccino Cream. Cones, custard and other sweet treats are available at Rita's, including Gelatis and the signature Misto and Blendini creations.
