Ritter’s Frozen Custard is celebrating 25 years in the ice cream business next week with a birthday party at the original Franklin, Ind., location that will feature prizes and raffles. The Franklin store is still owned by the company’s founder, John Ritter.
To further celebrate, Ritter’s locations across the country will offer discounted “1989 pricing” on May 19, Sept. 8 and Oct. 6.
John and Bonnie Ritter founded Ritter’s Frozen Custard in Franklin, and began franchising in 1995. In April of 2008, Ritter’s came under the Trufoods LLC umbrella in an effort to strengthen the brand’s presence, a news release said.
"Ritter’s has great brand recognition and consumer loyalty," Trufoods’ COO Gary Occhiogrosso said in the release. “Under Trufoods LLC’s guidance, we're taking the brand to the next level and making it easier for franchisees to build a solid business by bringing new relevance to the concept with fresh products and leadership.”
