Ronald McDonald House elects two trustees

Ronald McDonald House Charities Inc. has announced the appointment of Alex C. Rodriguez and Michael D. Richard to its board of directors, effective immediately.

Rodriguez is a McDonald's owner/operator and currently serves as the chairman of the local RMHC Chapter in South Florida. He is also an active supporter of the RMHC/HACER Scholarship program.

Through Rodriguez's leadership over the past 20 years, RMHC of South Florida has provided care for more than 22,000 families in need. He was recently honored by the charity with the Gerry Newman McTLC Award of Excellence for his work.

Richard joined McDonald's Corporation in 1987 as a director of Financial Accounting and Reporting. Richard, who recently retired from the company, has also served as the RMHC treasurer. Prior to his retirement, he held numerous accounting and treasury positions. He was named treasurer of McDonald's in October 1999 and promoted to senior vice president later that year. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society, where he has served as a member of the Accounting Principles Committee and as a council member for CPAs for the Public Interest.
