Smalls Sliders has signed a franchise deal for Kansas City. The agreement will bring nine units to the area, according to a press release.
The deal was inked with Mark Parretta, CEO of Genlumis, in partnership with his brother. The duo brings an established background in both the restaurant and automotive franchise industries.
"When I began learning about the concept and the immense growth they've driven in such a short time, I was blown away," Parretta said in the release. "The intentionally limited — yet delicious menu, alongside the brand's unique appeal to a variety of guests were huge factors in our draw to the brand. We also had the opportunity to meet the Smalls Sliders team in Atlanta, and it's clear that everyone involved is hungry for success and ready to make a massive impact on the industry with a high-quality product that's fit to go global."
The first unit, which Smalls Sliders dubs "cans," is slated to open later this year. Site selection is underway.
"Entrepreneurs nationwide have shown us their undivided enthusiasm for Smalls Sliders, and we've garnered distinct interest from operators in Kansas City and across the Midwest," Maria Rivera, CEO of Smalls Sliders, said in the release. "Having operators on our side like Mark, who brings an established background in franchising, has primed us for continued expansion in both new and existing markets. I'm eager to see this kind of continued growth unfold in 2024 as we drop Cans in more communities than ever before."
Smalls Sliders is the brainchild of restaurateur visionary Brandon Landry and is backed by industry veterans, 10 Point Capital and former NFL star Drew Brees, as investors. The brand is based in Atlanta.
