Casual dining brand Smokey Bones this week opened a 200-square-foot ghost kitchen in Columbus, Ohio that will serve as the production hub for that brand and sister concepts, The Burger Experience and The Wing Experience, a news release said.

The ghost kitchen is the second for the casual dining brand itself and features a limited menu of Smokey Bones' barbecue specialties. Items of sister virtual brands, The Wing Experience and The Burger Experience, will also originate at the new virtual operation in Ohio's capital city.

The actual kitchen is located on Essex Avenue and orders can be made through each brand's website or through Uber Eats and DoorDash.

"Smokey Bones has a very loyal fan base in Columbus and the new ghost kitchen gives customers more access to our barbecue," CEO James O'Reilly said in the release. "Despite it being a rough year for the restaurant business, we have tripled in size thanks to our Chicago ghost kitchen and 121 virtual restaurants. We look forward to growing our business in Columbus and serving more customers in the area."

Smokey Bone's two ghost kitchens (the first opened last year in Chicago) join Smokey Bones' 61 traditional restaurants across 16 states, where its Burger Experience and Wing Experience concepts also produce food from. Smokey Bones is an affiliate of Boca Raton, Florida-based Sun Capital Partners.
