Casual dining brand, Smokey Bones, is doubling down its efforts with its nearly 1-year-old chicken wing virtual brand, The Wing Experience. The company said in a news release that it was increasing its investment and promotional support for the brand.

Included in those additional efforts were the introduction of dedicated packaging, boneless wings, a dedicated online ordering and delivery platform and what the company said was a category-leading assortment of 50 flavor offerings at 61 kitchens in 16 states.

That array of variations includes nine different Buffalo wings, five barbecues, six fruit, nine "global," eight "rich and creamy," four "adventurous," six dry rubs and three Nashville-style renditions.

"The pandemic has changed the way customers interact with restaurants with guests now rely increasingly on curbside, carryout, delivery, and third-party delivery apps." Smokey Bones CEO James O'Reilly, said in the release. "We believe many of these changes are going to be permanent and now is the time for us to innovate and invest. We have the operational and culinary capability to do just that, while focusing on one of American's most beloved menu items — wings."

The virtual brand will also offer crinkle-cut fries to go with those wings. Smokey Bones is based in Aventura, Florida, and also has 61 locations, from where The Wing Experience operates.
