It may cost a bit more to get that morning boost, as J.M. Smucker Co. announced it has upped the cost on most of its coffee sold in the United States.
According to Reuters, the price increase will be implemented immediately and affects coffee sold at Dunkin' Donuts, as well as its Folgers, Millstone and Folgers Gourmet Selection coffees.
The cost increase could be as high as 9 percent and is the direct result of a continued rise in green coffee costs.
Because of this announcement, it is expected that Kraft, which owns Maxwell Coffee, and other U.S. roasters will follow suit.
Throughout the past two months, arabica coffee stocks have increased to a 12-year-high. Smuckers also raised prices by 4 percent on the same coffee brands as recently as May.
