Sonic Drive-In is giving its iconic fries their first makeover in 10 years, according to a press release.

The brand's new fries, dubbed Groovy Fries, "offer both improved taste and functionality with grooves made perfect for dipping," according to the release.

They replace Sonic's current fries.

Both the fries and a new sauce will launch by mid-May. The sauce features the flavors of creamy ranch and herbs combined with the mild head of sriracha.

"Our Sonic Tots are iconic, but we thought it was time to give them some competition," Mackenzie Gibson, VP of culinary and menu Innovation at Sonic, said in the release. "With the new Groovy Fries, we're redefining what a fast-food fry can be and giving folks another reason to say yes, I would like fries with that!"

Prices will vary by location.

Sonic operates more than 3,500 restaurants in 47 states.
