Sonic Drive-In adds to premium chicken, dessert lines

Sonic Drive-In has introduced a new Cheesy Pub Chicken Sandwich, which includes a grilled or crispy chicken breast with a pub-style cheddar cheese sauce, white cheddar cheese, caramelized onion sauce, lettuce and tomato on a whole grain ciabatta bun.

Sonic Drive-In has introduced a new Cheesy Pub Chicken Sandwich, which includes a grilled or crispy chicken breast with a pub-style cheddar cheese sauce, white cheddar cheese, caramelized onion sauce, lettuce and tomato on a whole grain ciabatta bun.

The offering is also available with a beef patty.

“We’ve been busy bolstering our chicken lineup with creative combinations our guests will love, and the Cheesy Pub Chicken Sandwich was created to offer guests that warm, comforting feeling that is really the essence of fall cuisine,” Chef Claes Petersson, VP of product innovation, said in a news release. “The new cheesy pub sauce coupled with white cheddar and caramelized onion sauce works together with our juicy white meat chicken to form a sandwich full of gourmet flavors that you wouldn’t expect from a quick-service restaurant.”

Sonic has also launched a new line of waffle cone sundaes. Available in three new waffle cone sundae flavor combinations, including Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups & Chocolate, Snickers Bar & Caramel and M&M’s Candies & Strawberry, the new waffle cone can also be customized.

“After the excitement of our Summer of Shakes, we wanted to keep the momentum going and treat our guests to a new way to enjoy the best ice cream in fast food,” Petersson said. “This new waffle cone is a delicious and crispy carrier for our smooth and rich real ice cream. When you add on candy and fruit toppings, it really pushes this newly portable sundae over the edge.”
