Sonic Drive-In serving bottled milk

September 5, 2006

ROSEMONT, Ill. — Sonic is teaming up with the National Dairy Council (NDC) to sell low-fat milk and chocolate milk at its drive-in outlets.

According to a news release, milk bottles will bear the NDC's "3-A-Day of Dairy" logo to promote milk as an excellent source of calcium.

The single-serve milk is a new menu item and also can be ordered as a beverage option in Wacky Pack Kids' Meal at no additional charge.

"We're delighted that Sonic has added the new milks to their beverage lineup," says Paul Rovey, an Arizona dairy producer and chairman, Dairy Management Inc. "The new packaging and flavors provide added appeal to a beverage the whole family already enjoys, while giving them a prime opportunity to help get their three servings of dairy a day as recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans."
