Sonic's new sippers sparkle 'plenty'

January 5, 2018

Sonic Drive-in is pulling a little sparkle into their menu in the form of sparkling water, all of it in the zero-to-60 calorie range and none of it containing any artificial additives. Fizzy fluids are a Sonic calling card, and the fruit fizzes fill the bill with flavors like strawberry peach, mango lime and raspberry lemon, a news release said.

"Whether it is a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime or real strawberry, this refreshing sparkling water gives you a guilt-free beverage, while keeping flavor front and center," Sonic vice president of product innovation and development Scott Uehlein said in the release.

The new beverage starts at 99 cents during the chain's "morning drink stop" times. The fizzes are made with carbonated water, real fruit and a bit of sweetness.
