Sonic plans to extend Raleigh-Durham presence

Sonic Drive-In has signed a new franchise agreement that will bring five new drive-ins to the Raleigh-Durham, N.C., market throughout the next five years, adding to the 23 drive-ins currently operating in the area. The agreement was signed with PGM Properties LLC.

“The folks of PGM Properties have extensive experience in the franchise world, and we are confident in their capabilities to develop the first new locations in Raleigh since before the recession,” Bob Franke, SVP of franchise sales and international development, said in a news release.

PGM Properties is a full-service commercial development firm specializing in the development of grocery stores, shopping centers and single-tenant retail and restaurant locations in the Southeast. Sonic is its first foray into the restaurant industry as owners.
