Sonic targets young women with MTV's 'The Hills'-inspired ads

AdWeek: Sonic is running a series of spots featuring its long-running Pete and T.J. commercial duo that mimic MTV drama The Hills. Sonic crafted 14 spots showing the characters in their customary positions in a car at a Sonic. In the first ad, T.J. explains (over a banana pudding shake) that he's met the girl of his dreams. The commercials end with a "to be continued."
The 14-week push is part of an effort by Sonic, traditionally strong with males, to reach young women, said Paul Macaluso, vice president, marketing at the restaurant chain. Click to continue
