Sonic today announced the return of its annual Limeades for Learning initiative, raising money to support public school teachers through its partnership with DonorsChoose.org.
According to a news release, with this year’s funding, Sonic will have contributed more than $4 million to the initiative, which provides funds for learning materials and helps out teachers who often end up spending their own money.
"We know our guests are looking for ways to make a difference in their local communities and Limeades for Learning provides a fun, easy way to help give back, and our guests have really responded," Sonic CEO Clifford Hudson said in a news release.
To kick off this year’s sixth Limeades for Learning campaign, Sonic is funding a classroom project for all eligible teachers in its hometown, Oklahoma City. A total of 68 Oklahoma City teachers and 2,040 students will benefit from these funds, totaling $45,206.86.
Sonic guests can also contribute to their local schools by voting online from now through Oct. 26 at LimeadesforLearning.com. .
