South Korean bb.q to launch franchise in US

South Korean franchise bb.q, Best of the Best Quality Chicken, a fast-casual fried and grilled chicken concept, is announcing the official launch of its American franchise program at the 2015 annual International Franchise Association (IFA) convention.

South Korean franchise bb.q, Best of the Best Quality Chicken, a fast-casual fried and grilled chicken concept, is announcing the official launch of its American franchise program at the 2015 annual International Franchise Association (IFA) convention.

The IFA will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, February 15 – 18, where bb.q is a General Session sponsor at the convention. Company executives, including Chairman Hong-Geun Yoon, will be onsite, according to the press release.

The franchise system will initially develop its Chicken Bistro concept, a quick-serve restaurant, and then implement bb.q Premium Chicken, a self-service dining option, and bb.q Chicken & Beer, a full-service restaurant.

The brand fries its chicken in olive oil and specializes in an internationally-inspired menu.

The franchise program, developed in collaboration with Chicago-based iFranchise Group and Harold L. Kestenbaum, P.C.,  will launch across the East Coast and in larger markets nationwide, including the opening of corporate-owned restaurants across the Northeast, Southeast, Great Lakes and West Coast. Target markets include the New York metropolitan area, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago and California.
