The Subway Café concept – which first opened in 2008 – has expanded into Florida.
According to the Sun Sentinel, the latest cafe concept will be located on the Florida Atlanta University campus in Boca Raton.
Others are expected to open in the South Florida market as well.
Subway Café includes an expanded menu, with coffee, salads, paninis and pastries. The design of the stores emulates an upscale coffeehouse feel. The concept also includes Subway's traditional sandwich menu.
These units are being built mostly in metropolitan markets, including office buildings, campuses and hospitals.
The latest Subway Café on the FAU campus is 3,400 square feet, and is attached to the football stadium. It will be operated by franchisee Louis Giorgi, who owns 20 other Subways in the Boca Raton area.
