Subway Canada has made two key staff appointments. Dennie Downie is the head of marketing of Canada and Reza Kouhang is the head of development for Canada, according to a press release.

Downie brings more than 15 years of restaurant and retail leadership experience and will play a pivotal role in expanding Subway Canada's offerings while delivering innovative and engaging marketing initiatives. His background includes leading marketing at Sporting Life and a tenure at Recipe Unlimited where he grew some of Canada's largest restaurant brands.

Kouhang, a seasoned QSR professional, will focus on driving key priorities, including the brand's expansion across Canada. He brings a wealth of experience working with several of Canada's largest brands, including Yum Brands, where he was most recently the chief financial and development officer at KFC Canada and Indigo Books and Music.

"Subway Canada is in a transformational time and welcoming these two accomplished and passionate leaders to Subway Canada will be instrumental in driving our bold vision forward," Courtney Hindorff, managing director of Canada, said in the release. "From elevating consumer communications to expanding our footprint across the nation, we are ready to take on the future."

Subway Canada has more than 2,900 restaurants across the country.
