Subway Canada rolls out prime rib

Subway restaurants in Canada today began offering a new Prime Rib Melt, made with 100-percent Canadian beef tossed in au jus glaze and topped with cheddar cheese on Italian bread.

The new sandwich is available for a limited time.

"The Canadian beef industry is thrilled to be providing Subway Restaurants across Canada with 100-percent Canadian beef," Rob Meijer, president, Canada Beef, said in a news release. "This is a great opportunity for our local producers to showcase their top quality product in a premium quality sandwich."

To support the launch, Subway is asking Canadians to share their pre-hockey game rituals via Facebook and Twitter.

Subway has also partnered up with BuzzFeed to profile the top 10 pre-game quirky hockey rituals in Canada. The Get Primed with Subway campaign will be supported through tailored social media content using #SUBWAYGetPrimed.
