With diners nationwide facing empty wallet syndrome after the holidays, many QSRs are starting the new year with value LTOs, beginning with Subway's Fresh Values promotion featured customer favorites like sliders starting at $1.89, and two classic six-inch subs for just $2.99. Included in the special are the Little cheesesteak, turkey, Italian spice, and "ham & Jack" sliders, as well as oven-roasted chicken or Veggie Delite six-inch subs, a news release said.

The brand said the sliders are all geared toward diners searching for a quick, low-priced bite, while Fresh Fit subs all include a couple of servings of vegetables and fewer than 400 calories. The $1.89 and $2.99 prices on the items are just for a limited time, however.

Meantime at Church's, two value LTOs are geared to capturing the on-the-go diner and include the brand's new
handheld chicken pot pie and its ultra-portable buttermilk ranch MegaBites. These value offerings both start at $3 each.

"Our culinary experts are renowned for inventing new and clever ways for Church's timeless tastes to fit perfectly with guests' modern lives," Church's Vice President of Brand Strategy & Activation Jennifer Chasteen, said in the release. "On-the-go versions of home-style classics like our new handheld chicken pot pie and buttermilk ranch MegaBites, deliver a new twist on honest-to-goodness comfort food you can carry."

The pot pies are priced two for $3, while five MegaBites and a biscuit start at $3, as well.

Also from Church's Chicken comes news that franchisee, Goalz Restaurant Group, LLC, will open a new store in Lancaster, South Carolina next Wednesday, Jan. 8.

"This newly built restaurant will serve as a sister-store to our existing Lincolnton, North Carolina location, and we're proud of the momentum we've generated throughout the area in order to bring the value of Church's to these communities," Goalz Restaurant Group CEO Shawn Eby said in the release.

The 2,100-square-foot location features the brand's new store design and color palette for the Charlotte Highway store. The brand will also give away 100 Church's "Free Chicken for a Year" cards to celebrate the new store.
