Subway extends pilot delivery agreement
September 9, 2009
UDS Group Inc. has announced that their pilot agreement with Subway has been extended into 2010, and that Washington, D.C., has been selected to be the first major market to introduce Subway Catering & Delivery utilizing the UDS proprietary delivery management solution. The SDC launch is scheduled for October 2009.
Until now, UDS has been engaged by Subway franchisees on an individual basis in various markets. The Washington, D.C., launch signifies the first concentrated effort by a market franchise group to implement the UDS One Number Solution. Using the 888-SUB-TO-GO phone number and Subway Catering & Delivery Platform, all participating franchisees are networked to serve orders on a collective basis.
There are 450 Subway restaurants in Washington, D.C.
In a concerted marketing effort including television, radio, newspaper, direct mail and in-store promotion, UDS is receiving support from the D.C. market franchise advertising fund and Subway to build market-wide consumer awareness of the 888-SUB-TO-GO number and online ordering capability being introduced for the first time.
