Subway names Van Hout CTO

MILFORD, Conn. — Sandwich chain Subway has hired Thys Van Hout as the chain's chief technology officer.

In his new position, Van Hout, merging the chain's 80-member retail technology and information systems teams, will focus on leveraging technology to enhance the Subway experience at store level and help increase franchisee profitability.

Van Hout recently served as president of Watervliet, Mich.-based Oak Brook Associates, and he has held various leadership positions in foodservice industry logistics, technology and statistical analysis with Kraft Foods and Procter & Gamble.
