Subway plans 700 India units in five years

Subway, the largest restaurant chain in the world, is looking to expand its footprint in India with a goal of opening 150 new units there by the end of 2014.

According to Reuters, the company currently has 300 restaurants in India and has shifted its focus to smaller cities.

Subway's Asian business currently brings in about 2.5 percent of its total revenues.

Additionally, Subway's growth plan entails 700 new outlets in India within the next five years, reports the New York Daily News.
