Subway plans for growth in China

March 7, 2010

Subway is targeting China for growth, and has plans to match McDonalds China store counts with the opening of 500 locations there in a decade, according to Reuters.

Subway founder and president Fred DeLuca said the chain is considering lowering prices to drive trial and is testing a new menu to suit local tastes. Subway hopes to capitalize on China's increasing awareness of obesity and the need for healthier food options.
