Subway retains Phelps in endorsement deal

Advertising Age.com: Despite removing Olympian Michael Phelps from its SubwayFreshBuzz Web site, Subway has announced its decision to continue with their endorsement contract after Phelps apologized for his behavior regarding leaked photos of his smoking marijuana at a party.
"Like most Americans, and like Michael Phelps himself, we were disappointed in his behavior," Subway said in a statement. "Also like most Americans, we accept his apology. Moving forward, he remains in our plans."
Subway previously locked Phelps into a multi-year, restaurant-exclusive deal, with plans to use his popularity overseas in December.
