Subway takes Fresh Now program to 500 US locations

August 2, 2018

Subway is launching its "Fresh Now" program nationwide, which a news release said focuses on new flavors and a "more personalized guest experience."

The program was tested successfully in San Diego and has launched in 500 U.S. restaurants, with plans to include most other national locations over the next year.

"The program lays the foundation for us to layer on new elements and explore new flavors - from the new refreshing beverages to the exciting sauces and freshly cracked spices in the Signature Flavor Station — while delivering an enhanced customized experience to guests. ..." Subway Vice President of North America James Walker said in the news release. "We're also excited to share that the Fresh Now program will be available at no out-of-pocket costs to eligible franchisees."

The program includes sauces and other new ingredients like mustard seed sauce and fresh-cracked spices, as well as new uniforms, menu boards and drink stations that feature fruit-infused Aguas Frescas.

The company said it is also testing new combinations of regional sandwiches at its San Diego locations.
