Taco Bell adds a $2-value offering for summer

Taco Bell is riding the value train into summer with a $2 Duo that pairs the triple melt burrito with a Baja blast or other beverage, available nationwide beginning June 24, a news release said.

"We have already passed the half-way mark in our commitment to introduce 20 new $1 items in 2018 with no intention of slowing down. ..." Chief Brand Officer Marisa Thalberg said in the release. "We know consumers are smart enough to discern the difference between 'cheap' vs. being offered something they really want, at an amazing price. That is the definition of true value, and that is where we will continue to land."

Triple melt burritos launched in April, while the brand's value menu includes everything from dollar items to $5 combos, including a $5 Steak Nachos Box that started last week. Likewise, naked chicken chalupas are also in a $5 box as of last week, featuring the namesake item, as well as a Doritos locos taco, a crunchy taco and a medium drink.
