Taco Bell doubles down on value offerings for 2020

December 17, 2019

Taco Bell is sending strong vibes to the value-conscious at this dollar-stretching time of year by starting the new year with 21 dollar offerings, including one of what the brand said in a news release is its most successful items, double stacked tacos. The nacho crunch, chipotle cheddar and reaper ranch double stacked tacos will be available a la carte and in $5 Cravings Boxes as a nationwide LTO, beginning Dec. 26.

It's more important than ever before that we give fans the craveable food they not only want, but can afford, and we've built our menu with some of our most innovative items from $1 to $5 to ensure there is something for everyone," Taco Bell Senior Vice President, Brand Marketing and Consumer Insights Melissa Friebe, said in the release. "Committing to the $1 is a priority for us and we're excited to bring back the hugely popular Double Stacked Tacos."

The re-introduced double stacked tacos include both a hard shell and soft tortilla. It's joined by a $5 Chalupa Box with a double stacked taco, one chalupa supreme and one crunchy taco with a medium soft drink.

The brand said these value offerings are nothing new since when the brand opened in Southern California in 1962, its core six items were 19 cents each. The brand introduced its Cravings Value Menu more than five years ago, focused on $1 menu offerings, continuing the brand's claim on value as an integral focus.
