Taco Bell would not release further details, but confirmed it is working with multi-brand franchise group, Caskade Caterers, to build its presence in London. Caskade Caterers announced that it has secured £29.4 million — equivalent to nearly $40 million USD — to make the expansion happen in both London and elsewhere in the U.K..
In an email to QSRweb, Taco Bell said, "We are very excited to be working with Caskade Caterers to bring Taco Bell to London. At this time, we have no further details, but we'll be sure to follow up once we have more to share."
British restaurant website, MCA Insight, said Caskade also owns KFC, Burger King and Costa Coffee locations in the U.K. Taco Bell now has 22 sites in the country, though all London stores closed decades ago.
London Eater said the group's funding will help them launch stores in southwestern England, including recent openings in Southampton and Poole.
