Taco Bell 'lights Ohio's fire' with 2 new test fries

August 16, 2018

The Midwestern cities of Cincinnati and Columbus Ohio will be the test grounds for Taco Bell's latest takes on spicy fries. The chain will starts tests today in both those metropolitan areas, including the brand's new Rattlesnake Fries in Columbus and Reaper Ranch Fries in Cincinnati, according to a news release.

Rattlesnake burrito and Rattlesnake fries.

Rattlesnake Fries — so named not because they have anything to do with the snake of the same name — are topped with nacho cheese, steak, creamy jalapeño sauce and pickled jalapeños. A burrito by the same name with the same ingredients is also available for $2.99 for a limited time starting Aug. 16 in Columbus.

Meanwhile, about 100 miles southwest of there, Cincinnatians will get treated to Reaper Ranch Fries, a name that tips a hat to the name of the world's hottest pepper, the Caroline Reaper. These fries,  $1.29, are served with hot Reaper Pepper sauce to light those taste buds afire, along with creamy ranch to douse the flames.

Those fabled Nacho Fries are also staying on menus nationwide through mid-September,
