Taco Bell plans to test a "Power Protein" menu beginning in July. The test is part of an effort to attract Millienials, the brand's core demographic, who seek items with more protein and less fat.
Ad Age reports the test will begin in Dayton, Ohio, July 25. The menu will initially include four items, a chicken burrito, steak burrito, chicken bowl and steak bowl. Each will contain more than 20 grams of protein and less than 450 calories.
Taco Bell will also trial zero-calorie beverages, such as SoBe Lifewater Yumberry Pomegranate and Brisk No Calorie Peach Iced Green Tea.
If testing goes well, the Power Protein menu should be a national rollout in 2014.
