Taco Bell to give away tacos for World Series home run
October 22, 2006
IRVINE, Calif. — Taco Bell is giving away free tacos if St. Louis or Detroit hits a home run over left or left-center field during Game Three of the World Series.
According to a news release, everyone in the United States will have the opportunity to enjoy a free Seasoned Beef Crunchy Taco.
Over the past three World Series, there have been 23 home runs hit, of which eight (34.8 percent) were hit to either left or left center.
"We can't think of a more fitting way to celebrate America's Favorite Pastime than by giving fans a chance of winning America's favorite taco," said Bill Pearce, chief marketing officer of Taco Bell Corp. "Since we haven't given away a free taco in previous World Series promotions, we felt this was the perfect time to 'think outside the bun' and open up the offer to include any home run over left or left center field."
