Taco Bell to put fan on the field at BCS Championship Game

December 3, 2006

IRVINE, Calif. — Taco Bell will put a fan on the field during the 2007 Tostitos BCS Championship Game featuring the college football national championship battle between Ohio State University and the University of Florida.

Taco Bell, the official QSR of the BCS, will grant one winner the ultimate insider's access to college football's most anticipated game of the year. During the 2007 Tostitos BCS Championship Game, a fan will take the field and pick up the kicking tee after a kickoff.

"Getting choice tickets to the big game is always a perk, but only Taco Bell can deliver a shot at gridiron glory by having you take the field and pick up the tee after a kickoff," said Bill Pearce, chief marketing officer, Taco Bell Corp. "You won't just be at the game, you will be a part of the game."

Four semi-finalists will be chosen to win a trip to Phoenix with a friend, two tickets to the 2007 Tostitos BCS Championship Game and an opportunity to be on the field to be part of college football's grandest game. To win the contest, they will compete in a simulated pick up the tee competition the day before the 2007 Tostitos BCS Championship Game.

The game will be televised live on FOX on Jan. 8 Prime Time.
