On Wednesday, April 21, Taco Bell said it will launch its fourth annual hiring party at 2,000 U.S. stores with the goal of hiring 5,000 people through drive-up, curbside and other interviews, according to a press release.

Part of the effort will entail converting parking lots and patios into job fair and on-the-spot interview sites, since the company said the entire event will take place outside restaurants given pandemic-level precautions, which include remaining at least 6 feet from others at the events, including interviewees.

"This initiative continues to be successful for us year after year, and we welcome candidates to join in to learn more about what makes Taco Bell a great place to work," Kelly McCulloch, Taco Bell chief people officer, said in the release.

Open roles vary according to individual restaurant needs, including all positions from food "Champions" to GMs. Restaurants will also be hiring for more "bellhops" to support drive-thru service with tablet ordering, the release said.

The brand said employees of company-owned stores are being offered expanded leadership benefits, including up to four weeks accrued vacation per year. General managers of company locations will also receive four weeks of paid "baby-bonding" time for new parents and guardians, and eight weeks of fully-paid short-term disability after the birth of a child.

Taco Bell has 7,270 stores in the U.S. and is based in Irvine, California.
