Taco Bueno adds contactless payment to stores
August 7, 2008
PURCHASE, N.Y. — MasterCard Worldwide has announced that Taco Bueno is now accepting MasterCard PayPass contactless payments at all of its 161 corporate-store locations. Customers can use their MasterCard PayPass card or device to simply "Tap & Go" to pay for menu items at the counter or in the drive-thru, enabling them to make purchases quickly and conveniently.
PayPass contactless payments are designed to enable small-ticket purchases that are quick, secure and easy. Customers tap their PayPass-enabled MasterCard card or device on a PayPass reader to make a purchase, eliminating the need to hand their card over to a cashier or pay with cash. MasterCard PayPass does not require customers to sign receipts for purchases under $25, further speeding up the transaction.
According to MasterCard research, consumer preference and satisfaction is driving PayPass growth and usage globally. A 2007 MasterCard PayPass Benchmark Study found that about 90 percent of PayPass-using respondents were satisfied with their experience, and 71 percent of PayPass consumers said they use PayPass as their primary card for everyday purchases.
Taco Bueno, which operates corporate locations and has franchises in Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico, accepts MasterCard PayPass, in addition to traditional magnetic-stripe payment cards, at all of its corporate-store locations.
