Taco Bueno takes off on growth spurt

December 19, 2016

Mexican quick service restaurant chain Taco Bueno is on a growth spurt, having opened nine locations in 2016 and with another 18 planned for 2017, according to a news release.

"While today's customers are demanding ever-increasing convenience, they are rejecting the factory-processed, heat-and-serve items offered by large chains," Taco Bueno President and CEO Mike Roper said in a news release. "Taco Bueno offers a made-in-house menu that delivers bold flavors crafted from fresh, real ingredients, a combination that is compelling to guests as well as to prospective franchisees."

The company's rapidly expanding franchise program has closed deals with the following partners:

  • Quality Brand Management — existing franchisee with stores in Central Arkansas and Oklahoma opened two additional Oklahoma locations this year and plans further expansion for next year;
  • Larry and Kimberly Coon — longtime Little Caesar's Pizza franchisees plan to expand in San Angelo, Texas;
  • Jed Blackburn and Brian Nelson — new franchisees with a multi-unit agreement in the Shreveport-Bossier City area of Louisiana; and
  • Unnamed special venue operator in West Fort Worth, Texas — plans to open a drive-thru restaurant in a Fort Worth travel center.

"Special venues like [the Fort Worth travel center] are an important part of Taco Bueno’s growth plans, and we are actively looking to provide dining options for customers in travel centers, airports, and other unique locations,"

Roper said.
