Taco John's asks customers to 'Eat until it helps'

November 9, 2006

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — For the 11th consecutive year, Taco John's is extending its "Feliz Navidad" holiday message through its Nachos Navidad promotion. The promotion raises money for vital local causes.

According to a news release, a portion of the sales of Taco John's seasonal version of Super Nachos, Nachos Navidad, will benefit multiple local charities under the "Eat Until It Helps" campaign. The nachos are made from green and red chips that are fried fresh daily at each location and served with specially seasoned beef and beans, nacho cheese sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, tomatoes, black olives, guacamole and sour cream.

Since donations are made at the local level, the company said it doesn't know exact totals collected at its 400 units, but it estimates that hundreds of thousands of dollars have been donated over the life of the program.

"The motivation behind Nachos Navidad has captured our hearts," said Paul Fisherkeller, president and chief executive of Taco John's International. "We're proud of the campaign's legacy and especially proud of the generous manner in which our customers lend their support each year."

Charities involved in past years include: American Cancer Society; Salvation Army; Cystic Fibrosis Association; Big Brothers/Big Sisters; American Red Cross; Special Olympics; American Diabetes Association; local schools and food banks.

The promotion, which will receive TV ad support, begins Nov. 13 and runs through Dec. 31.
